In Turkmenistan basically dominated self-flowing irrigation. In regions of Dashoguz velayat have been constructed some dams. Water elevating constructions (chigir) were widely spread in Turkmenistan. There are agriculture, cattle breeding and hunting shown in dioramas and show-cases of exposition alongside with irrigation. Exhibits connected with this subject tell about the life of people of that period.

Since old times, carpet-makers of Dashoguz velayat have woven a lot of carpets which have kept an exclusive originality of patterns.

In the XX-th century of the woman of this region used in carpet weaving goat’s and camel’s wool and white cotton threads as well. They added goat’s wool to enlarge weight of carpet and for better use of tool.

Felt mat also takes the sufficient place among the values which have come from times immemorial and have become our national pride. For this purpose was used only sheep’s wool. Felt mats made in the north and in the west of our country, had a pattern from both sides; they were bigger in volume and softer.
